Benzene

Many workers in the chemical plants and oil refineries, those involved in the rubber, leather, microchip, paint, printing and gasoline distribution industry, as well as mechanics, have been exposed to the toxin Benzene and are at risk of disease.

Exposure to Benzene has be connected to a variety of diseases. The most common is acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). Other diseases it has been linked to include myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), aplastic anemia (AA) and other blood disorders.

These diseases can be traced to people's day to day work not necesarrily from exposure to a spill. Regular use of paints, thinners, cleaning solvents and oils containing Benzene can prove toxic.

Hydroxycut

The FDA warned all consumers to stopped taking Hydroxycut, a widely used dietary supplement. The FDA reports that consumers experienced symptoms ranging from jaundice, or yellowing of the skin, to liver failure. In one case, a patient received a liver transplant.

As a nurtrutional supplement, Hydroxycut was not highly regulated. The FDA's has received 23 reports of liver problems and one death attributed to taking Hydroxycut.
